On September 19th, 2007, CNAIS, the Institute of World Economics and Politics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Global Economic Governance Program at Oxford University co-organized an international seminar “Reforming International Financial Architecture: Asian Perspectives”, sponsored by Asset Managers (Asia) Company Limited and Asset Managers Co., Ltd. Li Yong, Deputy Minister of Finance of China, Eisuke Sakakibara, former Deputy Minister of Finance for International Affairs of Japan, Duck-Koo Chung, former Deputy Minister of Finance of Korea, Jomo K.S., the ASG for Economic Development, Department of Economic and Social Affairs of United Nations, Pervenche Berès, the Chairwoman of Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs of European Parliament and scores of officials, experts and scholars from China, Japan, US, Britain, Hong Kong and other regions, with financial and monetary background participated in the seminar to analyze and discuss Asian perspectives on global monetary cooperation.
This seminar attracted broad concerns, Xinhua News Agency and other influential domestic and foreign media provided special coverage of it.
